Introducing Blackreign & Ohkang - Detroit Hip Hop Artists (video)

We were hit up by our peoples over at I Still Love Her Productions on this.

Lyrics are plain but the beat and video is dope.

Blackreign & Ohkang’s “Say it Wit Finesse”

Detroit born, Detroit bred. Blackreign & Ohkang (aka Nicholas Thompson and Bomani Diop) have been creating musical mayhem since 2004. Over the years, the duo have worked together to produce five full albums and numerous other standalone tracks, combining their shared penchant for writing with their individual skills in engineering, artwork and design (Blackreign), and mixing, mastering and production (Ohkang). From The Greatest Hits in 2006, to The Oriental Ep and Bass & Brass Knuckles Lp in 2007, to The Booty Lp and The FunTouchables Lp (a collaboration with Blake Eerie) in 2008, Blackreign & Ohkang continue to develop and redevelop their style, simultaneously appreciating and exploding musical conceptions, and transcending all barriers of genre, media and time.

Statik Selektah Record Release Party- 100 Proof The Hangover (Review & Footage) Bostonianz617 Video

Review and Footage by: Marco for Bostonianz617

Although I've witnessed some great shows from within the crowd, this time around I had the pleasure of shooting footage from the stage thanks to my homeys Singapore Kane and Ebens Matik. On tap at the Middle East in Cambridge was the record release party for DJ/Producer Statik Selektah's “100 Proof The Hang Over," his 3rd compilation LP. Performing in support and also featured on the album were Reks, Joe Scudda, JFK, Kali, Termanology and the Whole ST. Da Squad (free Easy Money).

Making his first Boston appearance was headliner Underground King Bun B who has been hard at work despite the loss of group mate Pimp C (RIP). Bun's collaborations with Statik Selektah have expanded his sound and fan base as evidenced by the near capacity crowd. Bun brought his deep southern raw tone as he performed classic tracks such as Jay Z's "Big Pimpin" and DJ Premier produced “How We Rock” with Termanology. Making a surprise appearance was the Militant Soldier Singapore Kane. Singapore was called on stage by Termanology to rock the hometown banger “My Boston."

Of course I can't forget the the man of the night Statik Selektah who manned the turntables for everyone who performed.

Shout out to The Middle East and Clockwork Music.
